Introducing LiveSocial, a social networking and news reader that keeps you informed about your friends’ Facebook status updates, tweets from people you follow on Twitter, and your choice of RSS or Atom news feeds. Designed primarily for use when your iPhone or iPod Touch is docked, the iPod music player is also fully integrated.
Each new message appears to be typed onto the screen in portrait mode, or tilt your device to landscape for a giant news ticker that can be read from the other side of the room.
The Timeline view consolidates all messages from Facebook, Twitter, and RSS newsfeeds into one list, sorted by time.
Some useful actions can be taken for each different message type:
- Facebook status updates and wall posts can be ‘liked’, and you can also view & add comments.
- Twitter tweets can be replied to, or re-tweeted.
- The full news story web page relating to an RSS or Atom news feed article can be opened in a browser, within LiveSocial.
